"City Council is not a position of power, it is a position of service." A quote by Al Bergstrom, Kathy's father and Maplewood Trustee 1962. These words describe Kathy's mantra for service as the longest-serving Maplewood City Council member since first taking office in January 2002.
Life-long resident of Maplewood, graduate of Archbishop Murray Memorial High School (now Hill-Murray) and College of St. Catherine's, retired high school teacher, ten years of advocacy for seniors, 21 years as a community activist, and current City Councilmember.

I believe in our common goals of community outreach and inclusiveness. Working together, supporting each other, we will achieve a safe and healthy community for everyone.
